Paper Back: DeGrowth is Prosperity - Reformatting to Economy of Permanence

DeGrowth is not romanticising or celebrating of poverty.

It is breaking the “development” frameworks that has made people run a forever race, fearing the shadow of poverty towards a destination unknown.

Our prevailing and dominant Development paradigm promotes such a running race stimulated by unending and limitless consumption. Our body becomes the hardware utilized by the race, while the beneficiary is the larger system of economy and those who control it.

This race is not same for all, nor its consumptive life equal. Privilege and power are shortcuts for the run. Distribution of the benefits are unequal, and without justice for a majority. And yet, we continue to celebrate “growth” and “development” frameworks based on the improvement of the lifestyle of a visible few while the invisible many suffer silently, muted and often not counted.

DeGrowth is an attempt to define an alternative pathway to slow down the race to a nature synced pace.
